Take tomatoes and try pickling them. Tomato pickles can be kept for up to three months without spoiling and have a special taste. The specialty of this pickle is that it can be used with dosa and idli. You can prepare delicious tomato pickles.
Ingredients
- Tomato – 1/2 kg
- Oil – 1 teaspoon
- Mustard – 1 tablespoon
- Kohl tamarind – the size of a gooseberry
- Curry leaves – 2 stalks
- Chilli powder – 1 teaspoon
- Garlic – 8 cloves
- Kashmiri chilli powder – 1 spoon
- Fenugreek & mustard seeds, roasted and ground – 2 teaspoons
- Sugar – 1 teaspoon
- Salt – as needed
Cooking Method
First, take half a kilo of ripe tomatoes. Then cut off the stem of the tomato. Otherwise, the pickle may spoil quickly.
Then cut the tomatoes into medium-sized pieces and heat a pan. Add a teaspoon of oil to this and add the tomatoes and a kohl tamarind cut into the size of a gooseberry, mix well, cover and cook.
Cook the tamarind along with the tomatoes well, mix well, break them and add them to the tomatoes. Transfer the well-cooked tomato mix to a bowl and keep it warm.
Next, heat a pan on the stove and add 100 ml of good oil to it. When the oil is hot, add a tablespoon of mustard and fry it.
Then add eight cloves of garlic, cut into four pieces, and two stalks of curry leaves and fry them well. Then add the heated tomato mix to it and mix well.
Next, add two teaspoons each of roasted fenugreek and mustard seeds to it. Then add one teaspoon each of chili powder and Kashmiri chili powder to it.

- Turmeric powder
- Small onions
- Green chili
- Fenugreek
- Black cumin
- Hard masala
- Garlic oil
- Perum cumin
- Vinegar
- Black cumin – 2 teaspoons
- Chili powder
- Mustard
First, heat a pan and add fenugreek, mustard, and perum cumin to it and fry it well for three to four minutes. Then remove it from the stove and set aside until the heat subsides.
Next, take a small onion and cut it in the shape of a plus sign. Take a green chili and cut it in the middle without breaking its stem. Then, grind the previously roasted ingredients in a mixer.
Add sufficient turmeric powder, chili powder, black pepper, two teaspoons of black cumin, and salt to the previously ground masala powder and mix well. When a pan is hot, add the chopped onion and green chili.
Then add one spoon each of the prepared masala mixture to it. After mixing everything together, add enough good oil to it. Try making this small onion pickle that will make your mouth water.
